The news about a positive COVID-19 female patient from Cavite who escaped from a medical facility is a hoax.
The claim says that the woman, Patient 11, escaped the facility and last seen with her husband. Her full name and address were published in the said post.
According to The Department Of Health, “the name on the circulating message does not belong to a COVID-19 patient.”
“The DOH respects the privacy of patient information in accordance with law and will never resort to announcements like these.”
“DOH requests all government and law enforcement agencies as well as the general public to please avoid sharing this kind of information.”
Meanwhile, as of March 20, there are 217 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines with 8 recoveries and 17 deaths.
