The Philippines has been recognized by the Sports Industry Awards Asia (SPIA Asia) as the “Best SEA Games Organizer.”

The Sports Industry Awards Asia hailed the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) as the Best SEA Games organizer, noting its efforts in executing a world-class opening ceremony and in hosting 529 events in 56 sports.

“We are humbled by this recognition and we will strive to keep the momentum going for the country,” PHISGOC Chairman Alan Peter Cayetano after receiving the award.

The 2019 SEA Games, the 30th edition of the Southeast Asian Games, is a biennial regional multi-sport event which will be hosted by the Philippines from 30 November to 11 December 2019.

Sporting events are held in 56 different venues including Tarlac, Zambales, Laguna, Cavite and Metro Manila.
