Bagyong Vinta has slightly weakened while traversing Davao region, PAGASA said on Friday, December 22, 2017.
According to PAGASA, Vinta is now in the vicinity of Compostela Valley. Bagyong Vinta is packed with maximum sustained winds of 80 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 130 kph.
It is forecast to move West at 18 kph.
Public Storm Warning Signal #2 was issued in the areas of Southern Surigao del Sur, Northern Davao Oriental, Agusan del Sur, Compostela Valley, Davao del Norte, Northern Davao del Sur (Davao City), North Cotabato, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Misamis Occidental, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay.
Public Storm Warning Signal #1 was raised in the provinces of Southern Leyte, Bohol, Southern Cebu, Negros Oriental, Southern Negros Occidental, and Siquijor Dinagat Island, Surigao del Norte, Rest of Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Camiguin, Rest of Davao Oriental, Rest of Davao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sultan Kudarat, and Basilan.
PAGASA advices the residents of these areas to make appropriate actions against flooding and landslides.
