ASEAN welcome banner carries misspelled name of the Philippines.
The said banner, which can be seen along the road leading to MOA, has misspelled the name of our country, Philippines.
The tarpaulin contain the phrase, “Welcome to the Philppines! ASEAN Delegates,” missing letter the “i” in “Philippines.”
According to PCOO Asec. Kristian Ablan, the tarpaulins and billboards that have the wrong spelling of the Philippines were not distributed by PCOO, PIA, TIEZA, MMDA and the DPWH.
“We have directed the immediate removal of the subject tarpaulins or billboards,” he said.
“The DILG-NCR already issued a statement clarified that it was issued by them, it was posted by them and they already took them down and that they are replacing those posters with the correct spelling of the country, the Philippines,” Ablan added.
Meanwhile, Netizens are not happy about the mistake saying that the government is wasting their taxes.
