Bagyong Salome has maintained its strength and now in the vicinity of Batangas, state weather agency PAGASA said on Thursday, November 9, 2017.
According to PAGASA, tropical depression Salome was located in the vicinity of Bulsa, Bayan ng San Juan .
It has a maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph and forecast to move West Northwest at 25 kph.
Public Storm Signal #1 has been raised in the areas of Metro Manila,Bulacan, Pampanga, Southern Zambales, Rizal, Bataan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands, Romblon, Marinduque, Quezon, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro.

Salome is expected to traverse Sibuyan sea this afternoon and may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Saturday morning.
