Looters caught on camera breaking into a shoe store in Fort Lauderdale Miami amidst Hurricane Irma on Sunday.
Captured by Local 10 News, the video shows nine people stepping in and out of a broken window of Simon’s Sportswear with stolen items.
Hours later, Fort Lauderdale Police Department announced that the criminals had been arrested.
“Going to prison over a pair of sneakers is a fairly bad life choice,” Fort Lauderdale police Chief Rick Maglione said.
“Stay home and look after your loved once and be thankful they are all safe,” he added.
Authority said the group also burglarized a Cash America Pawn and a Foot Locker store in the same area.
