Hugh Hefner, the founder of global iconic brand Playboy, has died on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. He is 91.
Playboy says Hugh Hefner died peacefully from natural causes at his home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday.
The company also announced the sad news on Twitter along with a notable quote from Hefner.
“American Icon and Playboy Founder, Hugh M. Hefner passed away today. He was 91.”

Hefner founded Playboy in 1953 with Marilyn Monroe as the first cover girl.
