The new Apple Watch Series 3 has a cellular LTE connectivity issue, Apple admits.
Available in stores on September 22, a cellular LTE connectivity issue has been discovered in the new Apple Watch Series 3.
A major problem to Apple and to all customers who have made pre-orders last week.
The connectivity issue was discovered by reviewers from The Verge and Wall Street Journal, which both reported of experiencing “intermittent cellular connectivity.”
In a statement sent to The Verge, Apple said:
We have discovered that when Apple Watch Series 3 joins unauthenticated Wi-Fi networks without connectivity, it may at times prevent the watch from using cellular. We are investigating a fix for a future software release.
While the issue can be address by tweaking the software, early owners of Watch Series 3 will have to deal with the issue until Apple release the fix.
The Apple Watch Series 3 GPS starts from $329 while GPS + Cellular costs $399. The 42mm GPS costs $359 while GPS + Cellular priced $429.
