Magnitude 6.3 Earthquake Shakes Batangas, Parts of Luzon


A 6.3 magnitude earthquake jolts Batangas and parts of Luzon at 1:28 pm on Friday, August 11, 2017.

According to The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology or Phivolcs, the epicenter was at 14.00°N, 120.64°E – 005 km S 13° W of Nasugbu Batangas. The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth 160 kms.

Intensity II – Magalang, Pampanga; Tanauan City, Batangas
Intensity I – Talisay, Batangas

Instrumental Intensities:
Intensity III – Calumnpit, San Ildefonso, Bulacan; Tagaytay City
Intenisty II – Lucban, Quezon
