Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz says Philippines’ bet Maxine Medina is ‘saling pusa’ and cannot be the winner of the 2016 Miss Universe pageant.
In an interview with Karen Davila on ANC, Gloria Diaz explained that Maxine Medina cannot be the winner because Philippines is the host country.
“Saling pusa si Maxine because she cannot be the winner. She can be first runner-up. I hope I’m proven wrong for the first time in my life. I want her to win. I want us to be so proud, but you know, that’s life,” Diaz said.
“We are the host. The host country cannot win. I cannot serve lechon and bring it back to my kitchen,” she added.
