Matt Terry is the announced winner of The X Factor UK 2016 on Sunday, December 11, 2016.
The 23-year-old singer, who brought powerhouse performances to the top-rating TV contest in UK, beats Saara Aalto in the public vote.
In the final showdown, the Top 2 performed two songs — Matt sings “One Day I’ll Fly Away” and “Writing’s on the Wall” while Saara Aalto performed “It’s Oh So Quiet” and “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength.”
The winner was announced at the end of a two-hour finale featuring performances from Kylie Minogue, Little Mix and Charlie Puth.
Matt Terry took home the grand prize and a recording contract deal.
