A powerful magnitude 7.4 earthquake hits Christchurch, New Zealand on Sunday, November 13, 2016.
According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake hits 91 km (57 miles) north-northeast of the city of Christchurch, New Zealand at 11:02 GMT on Sunday.
Reports said that the quake was strongly felt in Christchurch, Wellington, Taranaki, Hamilton and Auckland.
New Zealand’s ministry of civil defense issued a tsunami warning and told people living near the coast of the South Island to get to high ground as soon as possible.
