Edgar Matobato, a self-confessed member of the so-called DDS, has surrendered to the PNP on Friday, October 7, 2016.
Matobato was accompanied by Senator Trillanes to the Philippine National Police headquarter in Camp Crame Friday morning.
He submitted himself to the authority after Davao City court issued a warrant of arrest against him after failing to show up at a scheduled hearing on Tuesday. The case is for illegal possession of firearms.
“I am ready, I have given my life to God. What ever happens to me, I can’t do anything about it. I just wanted to correct my mistakes,” said Matobato in an interview.

Meanwhile, PNP Chief Bato Dela Rosa promised to Senator Trillanes that he will protect Matobato.
“We will assure that the witness will be safe after the turn over. I have given him my word that we will protect Matobato. He won’t get any scratch and we will do everything,” Dela Rosa said in a press conference.
