Senator Manny Pacquiao hits Senator Leila De Lima for defending Edgar Matobato during the fourth Senate inquiry on Extra Judicial Killings on Thursday, September 22, 2016.
“What I understand, this is an inquiry into a witness to hear his statement, says Senator Pacquiao.
“We are here to investigate, not to protect witness. That is the rule here,” he added.
Senator De Lima, earlier appealed to her colleagues not to mislead Senate witness Edgar Matobato during questioning.
“If he is explaining something, allow him to finish his explanation,” said Senator De Lima. “We should understand that this proceeding is not a formal judicial proceeding,” De Lima added.
“Let’s gave consideration, explain throughly, don’t read in english and ask in english,” she said.
