Miss Zamboanga Bellatrix Tan defended and explained her side about her viral ‘El Nino La Nina’ answer at Miss Philippines Earth 2016 Question and Answer ‘Q&A’ portion.
In an interview with DZMM on Monday, Tan explained:
“I know po talaga yung El Niño and La Niña. Kasi alam ko po talaga na yung El Niño, drought po, dry. Sa La Niña naman po, heavy rainfall. Kasi nung na-realize ko na mali pala ‘yung pag-deliver ko, ‘yung pag-answer ko, bigla pong nag-react na ako. Sinabi ko na nga po dun sa host na alam ko kung ano ang La Nina, heavy rainfall. Hindi ko po ma-explain kung bakit ganun po,” she said.
When asked if she would given a second chance what would her answer be.
“El Nino and La Nina are both effects of climate change. If we don’t do our part, we will really experience drought and heavy rainfall. Act now so we can have a better future,” she said.
Tan also addressed her bashers saying that competing in a national pageant is though and many beauty queens struggled in ‘Q&A’ portion.
Bellatrix Tan made headline over the weekend after giving a confusing answer in the recently concluded Philippines Earth 2016 pageant. Tan was asked to elaborate the trending topic #ElninoLanina.
Her answer: El Niño is what we are experiencing now. If we do simple things like planting trees then we will not be experiencing drought, right? So if we start now, we will achieve La Niña.
