Senator Miriam Santiago was rushed to the Makati Medical Center on Monday due to complications says husband.
According to her husband Narciso Santiago Jr, the senator was taken to the hospital on Monday due to complications.
While no concrete details released why Santiago was admitted to the ICU, her husband advised that “visitors are not allowed” and that “gifts will not be accepted, such as flowers and other blooms.”
Miriam Santiago was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer June 2014 — she is currently undergoing treatment for lung cancer.
Her candidacy for May 2016 presidential elections was affected by her health condition and series of medications.
GMA News reports that Santiago has extended her medical leave in the senate after developing anorexia — a side effect caused by her anti-cancer pill.
