Nike fired Manny Pacquiao after anti-gay remarks

Nike has just announced that Manny Pacquiao is no longer their endorser after making anti-gay remarks calling same-sex marriage “are worse than animals.”

Popular sports brand Nike announced on Wednesday that they fired Manny Pacquiao as an endorser. According to Nike, they terminate  Pacquiao because they find his comments abhorrent.

“We find Manny Pacquiao’s comments abhorrent. Nike strongly opposes discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of the LGBT community,” Nike said in a statement.

“We no longer have a relationship with Manny Pacquiao,” the brand added.

Meanwhile, TMZ reported that Manny personally tried to save the deal up until the last minute and his camp had been communicating with Nike all morning begging the company to give Manny another chance.
