James Ried’s striptease dance wearing police uniform on ABS-CBN soap “On the Wings of Love” become a subject of criticism among policemen online.
The controversial scene sparks outrage for disrespecting and degrading the image of the policemen, which they said, created a “long lasting impression that PNP men are significantly, totally, absolutely ### maniacs.”
On social media, police officers and the Police Community Relations Group demands television networks to make a thorough review on the sensitive scenes, especially when it concerns the use of uniforms of government personnel.
ABS-CBN Apology
On the Wings of Love would like to apologize for a short scene that aired last Monday, which showed the main character Clark dancing as a policeman for Leah in her bridal shower.
The program has called the attention of its production team and assures the public that there was no intention to disrespect the sanctity of the Philippine National Police (PNP) uniform. We do not want to jeopardize our good relations with the PNP and will make sure that it will not happen again.
