Television host, actor and comedian German Moreno ‘Kuya Germs’ has passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016. He was 82.
According to reports, Kuya Germs, German Molina Moreno in real life, passed away at 3:20 a.m. on Friday due to cardiac arrest.
John Nite, Kuya Germs nephew, said in a statement:
“He passed on in the company of his family and friends. He lived a full life, touched so many hearts through the years, and helped make dreams come true for most of the biggest stars in the Philippine entertainment industry.”
“We are deeply saddened by his passing but we are comforted by the thought that his legacy will live on.”
Moreno became involved in the entertainment industry working as a janitor and curtain raiser of Clover Theater. He later went on to pursue a career as a comedian of the bodabil stage and the post-war screen. His biggest break came on television in the late 1970s when he became host of the Sunday noontime variety show, GMA Supershow. He eventually became the host and producer of That’s Entertainment, a youth-oriented variety show.
