Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj performed together to open the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 30, 2015.
With tribal-themed performance, Minaj opened the show with her song Trini Dem Girls. Suddenly Taylor Swift appear on stage and join Minaj to close the opening number. They finished the performance by singing Swift‘s hit song “Bad Blood.” They hug at the ending of the performance.

Few months ago, Minaj criticized MTV for not including “Anaconda” in the Video of the Year nomination. Swift interpreted Minaj’s social media complaints as a personal attack and accused her of “pitting women against each other,” but apologized after her response was widely criticized.
