WDBJ TV reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward were shot dead during live broadcast from a shopping center in Virginia on Wednesday, August 26, 2015.
The suspect was identified as Vester Lee Flanagan, a former WDBJ reporter who went by the name Bryce William.
According to authorities, Bryce William shot himself to death after being named as the suspect in the killing of two Virginia journalists on live TV.
Earlier, WDBJ President and General Manager Jeff Marks said in a statement:
“It is my very, very sad duty to report that we have determined through the help of the police and our own employees that Alison and Adam died this morning shortly after 6.45am after the shots rang out.”
“We do not know the motive, we do not know who the killer is.? I just got off the phone with the state police – they are working very diligently to track down both the motive and the person responsible for this crimes against two very fine journalists.”
Two separate videos from the incident emerged online showing the actual shooting of Alison Parker and Adam Ward. One video shows the gunman’s view point and the other is the live feed video from television.
