Rhap Salazar creates stir online following his viral tweet about lip-syncing artists on microblogging site Twitter.
Filipino singer Rhap Salazar is in the midst of controversy after expressing his disappointments over artists who lip-synch on television shows.
In a series of Twitter post on Sunday, the 19-year-old singer said “he hates seeing artists lip-syncing on TV” and quoting “some of them even got albums.”
On social media, netizens believes that Salazar is may be referring to the popular love team James Reid and Nadine Lustre who performed on ASAP that time.
Following his controversial remarks, showbiz personalities including Vice Ganda and Boy Abunda weighs in on the said issue. Here’s what they said about Salazar’s comment.
“As much as possible, let’s not use the word hate. We can use “I don’t like” or “I am not in favor” but please, do not hate people because they did not violate any laws,” said Vice Ganda.
“I disagree though with Rhap. Even the best artist and the most brilliant singers have to lip-synch. It’s not evil. It’s not bad. It’s needed depending on circumstances,” said Boy Abunda.
“About the word hate. If you have the freedom to hate artists who lip-synch, you have the freedom not to watch them,” Abunda added.
Meanwhile, Rhap Salazar remained with his thoughts saying that it was what he felt during that time as a young singer.
