MTRCB called out the attention of ABS-CBN executives over a strong language used in Pangako Sa ’Yo.
The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board seeks the attention of ABS-CBN executives for complaints about a scene in the hit soap opera re-make Pangako Sa ’Yo.
In a letter issued by the MTRCB, the board summoned ABS-CBN executives including the Head of TV Production Entertainment Laurenti Dyogi, Business Unit Head Malou Santos, Executive Producer Sabrina Prince, Directors Dado Lumibao and Rory Quintos over a controversial dialogue uttered by Pilar Pilapil in the May 29th episode of of the show.
According to MRTCB:
The quoted strong language insinuates that it is okay to use a woman for the mere purpose of satisfying one’s fleshly desires even if he is already engaged to marry another woman ate obviously meant for a mature audience.
The scene, if left unexplained, also cuts into the dignity of the woman and the integrity of an impending marriage – which is a protected institution under the Constitution.
Signed by Eugenio H. Villareal, MTRCB required the ABS-CBN executives to attend the mandatory conference on June 9, 2015.
