Celia Veloso, the mother of Mary Jane Veloso, angers netizens after criticizing the Philippine government and slamming President Aquino during a press conference on Friday.
In the said media briefing, Celia aired her grievances toward the government for taking credit on the reprieved of her convicted daughter Mary Jane.
“Now that we’re back in the Philippines, we will be going after the government who up to the end tried to fool us. They told the public that it was Aquino who saved my daughter’s life. That’s not true,” she said.
“Get ready, we are here to charge you. We will fight you,” Celia Veloso added.

However, her remarks did not sit well with Filipino people. As a result, Netizens went furious and blasted Celia Veloso saying that she is arrogant, ungrateful and an ingrate person.
On our shared news on Facebook alone, Celia collects hundreds of negative comments against her.
Meanwhile, Aquino responded to Veloso’s statement saying that the government did everything to save Mary Jane.
“We did what we could. We were not involved in the creation of the problem. You must remember she was arrested, if I am not mistaken, April of 2010,” Aquino told reporters.
“What more can the government do? From the counsel that were provided, from the intercessions done through with President Widodo, with foreign ministers, through the Attorney General,” he added.
