In a conference briefing held at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Friday, Celia Veloso told the press:

“Now that we’re back in the Philippines, we will be going after the government who up to the end tried to fool us.”

“They told the public that it was Aquino who saved my daughter’s life. That’s not true,” she said.

Celia credits the priests, nuns, teachers and organizations for the cancellation of Mary Jane’s execution. Celia Veloso thanked the members of media and those who introduced them to leftist group Migrante International.

Mary Jane Veloso was spared at the last minute of her scheduled execution on Wednesday.

According to Indonesian Attorney General HM Prasetyo, they suspend Veloso’s execution because “there was a last-minute plea from the Philippine President. There was someone who surrendered today. She claimed she was the one who recruited Mary Jane.”
