Marlisa Punzalan was named as the winner of The X Factor Australia 2014 on Monday, October 20, 2013.
The 15 year-old Filipino descent singer from Glendenning New South Wales, who brought powerhouse performances to the top-rated TV contest in Australia, beats Brothers 3 and Dean Ray in the public vote.
On Sunday, the Top 3 performed three songs each. Marlisa brought outstanding performances of Yesterday, Never Be The Same Again and her new single Stand By You.
She also performed ‘Titanium’ as her best moment song after being called as one of the Top 2 on Monday’s grand finale episode.
The winner was announced at the end of a two-and-a-half hour finale featuring performances from Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, Olly Murs and country pop signer Taylor Swift.
Marlisa Punzalan took home the grand prize and the recording contract deal with Sony Music Australia.
