Elyjuh Rene and Ricky Manning battled it out for a spot on Team Pharrell on The Voice 2014 Knockout Rounds, Tuesday, October 28, 2014.
Elyjuh Rene sings ‘With You’ by Chris Brown while Ricky Manning performed ‘Wrecking Ball’ by Miley Cyrus. Here’s what the judges have to say about their performance.
“Ricky, that was wow, it was so insane, real, genuine and moving. Your voice is so beautiful. Elyjuh, that showcase your incredible vocal talent but the connection between you and the lyrics is missing,” said Gwen.
“Song choice at this point is the most crucial. Elyjuh, you didn’t make any mistakes but it’s just hard in the wake of what Rickey did like a star was being born. It was ridiculously incredible performance,” said Adam.
“Elyjuh, you gave a step towards the end with your runs and it’s crazy cool. Ricky, that performance to me was my favorite in the knockout rounds,” said Blake.
“Elyjuh, you killed it vocally and technically but there was a little disconnection in the lyrics to me,” said Pharrell.
The winner of the knockouts is Elyjuh Rene. Gwen steal Ricky Manning.
