Gilas Pilipinas defeats Senegal in an overtime score 81-79!
Gilas Pilipinas finally bagged their first win in the FIBA Basketball World Cup on Thursday, September 4, 2014.
Team Gilas survived the over time game against Senegal, closing the match with two-point lead, 81-79.
It was Andray Blatche who played best during the match scoring 18 points with 14 rebounds, but got fouled out in the over time. Ranidel De Ocampo, June Mar Fajardo and Jimmy Alapag makes the run the in the endgame giving Gilas their historic victory.
Gilas loses to Croatia, Greece, Argentina and Puerto Rico before winning their Group B match against Senegal.
