President Rodrigo Duterte finally meets Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday, November 19, 2016.
Duterte had chance to meet and talk to Vladimir Putin during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Lima, Peru.
The two leaders held a bilateral talk before the start of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting on Saturday.
During the meeting, Duterte talks to Putin regarding drug war, hypocrisy of the west and his desire to be part of Europe especially in its commerce and trade sector.
“I have been looking for this moment to meet you, Mr. President, not only because you represent a great country but because of your leadership too,” said President Duterte.
“And we’ve been longing to be part also of… despite the distance… we have been longing to be part of Europe, especially in commerce and trade around the world,” Duterte told Putin.
