President Rodrigo Roa Duterte says he will allow the burial of former president Ferdinand Marcos in ‘Libingan ng mga Bayani.’
During his speech in Davao City on Sunday, President Duterte said that he will allow the burial of former president Ferdinand Marcos in Libingan ng mga Bayani.
“I will allow the burial of Marcos in Libingan ng mga Bayani. The law states that presidents and soldiers are allowed to laid rest there. Marcos was a president,” said President Duterte.
“As a matter of fact, I voted for him during his first term. Marcos was a soldier. He was there to fight for the country,” se said.
“He is a president and a soldier, he is qualified to be buried there. If other Filipinos oppose it, fine. Hold demonstrations, go ahead. You can use the streets for a month,” Duterte added.
Meanwhile, Bongbong Marcos told media that arrangements are being made for the burial of Ferdinand Marcos on September 18.
