President Rodrigo Duterte has named five Police Generals allegedly involved in illegal drug trade on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
The shocking announcement was made by the President during the 69th anniversary During the Philippine Air Force’s (PAF) celebration at Clark Air Base on Tuesday.
“I still have to validate it but I have the raw information,” said President Duterte. “I am compelled by my sense of duty to tell all to you, most importantly those police officers who are involved in drugs,” he added.
“As of this time, I order them relieved from their assignments and report to the director general [Ronald dela Rosa],” he said.
“I would like to talk them and certainly, I would expect the National Police Commission to do their thing,” he said.
Here’s the list:
- Deputy Director-General Marcelo Garbo Jr., (retired)
- Chief Superintendent Vicente Loot, (retired)
- Chief Superintendent Bernardo Diaz
- Director Joel Pagdilao
- Chief Superintendent Edgardo Tinio
