In the said dry run, Sueno placed a call through the 911 hotline and asked for police assistance at the NTC office.

A male operator connected Sueno to Baler Police Station 2. However, the female operator at the station asked Sueno to call another number.

Watch on the video below.

While the ideal response time to the emergency call is three to five minutes, cops responded within 10 minutes while fire officers were able to respond within 20 minutes.

According to Sueno, they will educate the operators and the respondents before the launch of the new system.

Duterte administration is schedule to open the 24-hour hotlines 8888 and 911 on August 1.

The “8888” hotline is dedicated to receive people’s complaints while the “911” hotline will be the new national emergency number, replacing the 117 hotline.
