New $100 billsThirty million worth of new $100 bills will be trashed due to printing error, says reports.

According to The Christian Post, an ink error was spotted in the huge stash of new $100 bill.

Spokesperson for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Darlene Anderson, confirmed to the New Yorker’s David Wolman that “mashing,” a printing error which occurs when too much ink is applied to the paper, caused the damage.

Anderson said the incident is unusual, it may once again delay the long overdue release of the new $100 bills.
