The largest video sharing site “YouTube” launches their newest and first ever music chart called YouTube 100. The chart typically tracks video/music and rank it base on its popularity. The chart will be updated on a weekly basis just like Billboard Hot 100 chart.
YouTube Music page will be flooded of daily viral videos that are inline to any music genre. At the end of the week, all videos will be ranked according to its popularity. One great thing about the chart is breaking beyond the usual chart coverage. Anyone can get into the chart… fan-made, professional-made, low profile or high profile artists as long as they reach the viral status.
YouTube 100 debuts Tuesday, the first chart for the week of May 10, 2011 includes music videos of Jennifer Lopez ‘On the Floor’ towering at the top spot followed by the just-released ‘Judas’ video of Lady Gaga.
Katy Perry #3 ET, Chris Brown #4 Look at Me Now, Bruno Mars #5 The Lazy Song, the too hot to handle Super Bass of Nicki Minaj placed at # 6 while Jessie J steals the #7 spot.
